5 Tips to Seeing Your Beauty


For many, seeing yourself as beautiful can be a challenge.

So I’m here to help!

Here are 5 tips I’d love to share with you to make seeing your beauty a little  easier.

Let’s jump straight in with tip #1: 


1. ACCEPT THAT BEAUTY IS MORE THAN SKIN DEEP

I’m a strong believer that beauty first comes from the inside before you see it on the outside.⁣
There's a very big difference between someone being pretty and someone being beautiful. Beauty has a lot more substance. Pretty is merely superficial.⁣

 

2. UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE UNIQUE IN YOUR LOOKS⁣

Each person has unique looks. Even among identical twins, you can see subtle differences. There is no one singular thing that defines what beauty is. You can be beautiful to one person and average to the next. ⁣
⁣So rock what you got! ⁣
You are beautiful in your own unique way.⁣

 

3. KNOW THAT THE THING THAT MAKES YOU QUIRKY
MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL

I have my own individual sense of fashion. If I like it I wear it, if not I don’t. Some people call me quirky and I love it because I embrace what makes me different. I don’t want to be like everyone else. ⁣
It’s in my quirkiness that 𝗜 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 because I don’t have to spend my time trying to make sure others like me. ⁣

I have spent years telling my children just this. Your quirks are your unique charm. Embrace them - You wouldn't be the person I love without them.⁣

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞.⁣

 

4. UNDERSTAND JEALOUSY

No matter what you do there is always going to be someone out there that is jealous whether they want to admit it or not.⁣⁣
I was told countless times when I was younger that I was too skinny and that I needed to put on weight.⁣ I spent a lot of time thinking that those people were right. They weren’t.⁣
What I soon discovered was that those same people that used to tell me that I need to put on weight were always trying to diet and lose weight (funny that, eh?)⁣
⁣Even if we all ate the same thing every single day we would all be a different size and shape - that’s just how we’re made!⁣ We are all uniquely beautiful in our own right.⁣

Your situation might not be with your weight it may be something else but it’s still the same thing.⁣

You are beautiful just as you are <3⁣

 

5. CONFIDENCE

Confidence is beautiful! A person that is confident radiates strength, passion and conviction. A confident person is not afraid to be themselves. They know that they are beautiful just the way they are, regardless of what the media dictates.⁣

As Gabourey Sidibe said: “One day I had to sit down with myself and decide that I loved myself no matter what my body looked like and what other people thought about my body. I got tired of hating myself.” -

Let that one sink in for a moment. ⁣

Feeling beautiful is all down to you. It is a truth universally acknowledged that the most attractive quality in a person is their confidence.⁣

I often tell my clients that they may not feel confident coming into their session, but they damn sure feel confident after!⁣

 

bonus: eliminate negative self talk

Pay attention to what you're saying to yourself within your mind. Every time you think something like "I can't do this," try to replace it with something positive such as "I'm going to give it my best shot."

The key is to step out of yourself and look at your self-talk as an outsider. How would it make you feel to hear someone sitting next to you say "I'm so [fat, dumb, ugly, slow, etc.]?" Pretty harsh, right?

Nurture yourself within your thought life, just as you would with someone else. You don’t have to be utterly in love with yourself and your body, but I believe we do not take care of something we hate.

So maybe you aren’t ready to hop on that Self Love train just yet, that’s ok! I encourage you to start shifting your mind set. Let’s work on accepting our body as it is, showing it the respect and care it deserves.
